Letter from George Teasdale, 19 June 1889
President Wilford Woodruff. S[alt] Lake City Utah, U. S. A. My dear brother: On Friday the 14th inst. the following named brethren and sisters arrived [here in] good health and spirits, per Guion S. S. Wisconsin [for] missions. Erastus Kofford, Scandinavia Jno Jacob Scheller, Switzerland Wm J. Critchlow appointed Leeds Confer [ence] James H. Hall, to Manchester. Wm Grimsdell and [grand]-daughter (Emily R. Hillam) Joseph Lawson and wife Job Pingree and daughter Ellen, James Robbins Robert McQuarrie, Joseph Barker, Lavinia Morris and Maria L. Newman. Hiad an exceedingly pleasant visit to Wales met twenty of the brethren from Utah. Held a priesthood meeting on Saturday evening 15th inst, three meetings well attended on Sunday and another priesthood meeting on Monday. The weather was delightful and the Lord blessed us exceedingly. Prest S. R. Brough has spent all his time in Wales and has labored very earnestly. He has been here two years and a half and was willing to remain if his labors were wanted so he was removed to the charge of the Irish Mission where we required just such a valuable man for the work in that cause the present president wishing to labor in London
