Yours to hand, call-
ing upon me to take a mission to
the Southern States, and in reply
say, That I am ready and willing,
if its your request, to perform this
honorable duty to the best of my
ability, with the aid and assist-
ance of the Almighty, but I can
assure you that I feel my weakness
in going out to preach the Gospel

is somewhat poor, but a mission
may improve it, in connection with
the faith and prayers of the Saints.
I shall endeavor to be ready on
the date you mention.
