Dr Sir

I see by the Alamosa papers
that you & your people are
securing lands for settlement
in the San Luis Valley & want
to say I can offer you
a very good thing in this line
in the Arkansas Valley.

This property consists of a
tract of Four thousand three
hundred & twenty acres
owned by 3 firms and

Situated on the north side of
the [Arkansas River, Arkansas|Arkansas River]], all
connected & together in one body,
all fenced, & a house in
center of tract that cost
Thirty thousand dollars.
The West End of this tract is
30 miles from the City of
Pueblo, & covers about 15 miles
of the River. The Santa Fa
Rail Road Runs East & west close
to River on south side &
The Mo Pac Road close to
River on north side, giving
2 stations for Each Road for
shipping. We can Water

this tract of land with 15 mile of
private ditch for four dollars
per acre & Expect to commence
Work on the ditch in 30 days. But
will give you privelege of purchasing
during the 30 days at Twenty
dollars per acre for all the
land, this includes its fencing
& the house & other improvments
& all I ask is that you send
a Representative to investigate
& look over this property.
This ditch might be Extended
15 or 20 miles East to the
town of La Junta, County
seat of otero county

& you could secure all or
nearly all of the lands Under
this Extension at reasonable
prices & I could aid you
in this work if desired
This Valley speaks for itself
& is being developed very
rapidly & this is a choice
location & tract of land.

Can verify all I say & show
it is much better when
see your representative
on the ground.

Yours Respy
