July 5^th Monday This day was spent in celebration
[FIGURE] of the 4^th of July Govornor Young & Escort were
escorted to the Tabernacle by the Mormon Battalion
Silver Grays Horse company &c The day was spent
The day was spent making speeches singing prayer &c

July 6, 1852 ~ Tuesday

6^th We had a soaking rain I spent the day hoeing
& in the House

July 7, 1852 ~ Wednesday to July 10, 1852 ~ Saturday

7, 8, 9, & 10 I spent the time farming

July 11, 1852 ~ Sunday

11^th Sunday I was at meeting

July 12, 1852 ~ Monday to July 18, 1852 ~ Sunday

12 to 18 I spent the week haying the wheat that was
broak down by a great Hail Storm

24^th [FIGURE] We held the celebration of the arival
of the pioneers into this valley it was a splendid affair

25 Sunday A sermon was delivered by O Pratt
Orson Pratt on the death & resurrection of the
[FIGURE] Heavens Earth & man I Baptized my daughter
Susan C. Woodruff & Mary Webster & confirmed them

July 26, 1852 ~ Monday to July 28, 1852 ~ Wednesday

26 27 & 28 Finished harvesting we had a meeting
each evening at 6 oclok & received good teachings
from the presidency & others on building the public works
the Eastern mail came in on the eve of the 28.
I was with the presidency & Twelve till midnight herg [hearing]
the News

July 29, 1852 ~ Thursday

29^th Calafornia Mail came in this morning
I spent the forenoon in the presidents office geting News
I [FIGURE] wrote a long letter to I F Carte at Sacrameto city

July 30, 1852 ~ Friday

30^th Brother C C Rich left us for Sanbarnadeno
to day at Presidents Young office hearing the news

July 31, 1852 ~ Saturday

31^st I spent the day at Home

August 1, 1852 ~ Sunday

Aug 1^st Sunday I attended meeting President Young
made some remarks & said I am willing you should be
a Methodist a Catholic or an infidel but I am not willing
you should steal from me or my Brethren or turn your
cattle into my corn or drive me from my house & home
but if my Enemies do it I will trust in God but if all
the world fight against me I will not deny my religion
or my God
