Benjamin Winchester

1817-1901
Benjamin Winchester (1817-1901) was born 6 Aug. 1817 near Elk Creek, Erie Co., Pennsylvania. He was the son of Stephen Winchester and Mary Case. He married Mary Hannah Stone on 25 Feb. 1840. He was baptized in 1833. He and Wilford Woodruff were part of Zion's Camp in 1834, and he served as chairman of the board of trustees of the Nauvoo Library and Literary Institute while Wilford Woodruff served on the city council. He died 25 Jan. 1901 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa.
