Edward Ockey

Edward Ockey (Oakey) (1816-1871) was born 27 Feb. 1816 in Bishop’s Frome, Herefordshire, England. He was the son of John Ockey and Elizabeth Taylor. He married Eliza Brewer on 22 May 1841 in New York City, New York Co., New York; officiated by Wilford Woodruff; widowed. He married Sarah Cole on 12 Jun. 1849 in Great Salt Lake City, Great Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory; participated in plural marriage. He was taught the gospel by Wilford Woodruff in Aug. 1840, baptized in Sep. 1840, and ordained a Priest by Wilford Woodruff on 21 Sep. 1840. He died 14 Aug. 1871 in Nephi, Juab Co., Utah Territory.
