Elijah Funk Sheets

Elijah Funk Sheets (1821-1904) was born 22 Mar. 1821 in Charlestown, Chester Co., Pennsylvania. He was the son of Frederick Sheets and Hannah Page. He married Margaret Hutchison on 16 Jan. 1846 at sea near Liverpool, Lancashire, England; married by Wilford Woodruff; widowed 1 Feb. 1847. He married Susanna Musser on 6 Apr. 1847 in Winter Quarters (later Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska); participated in plural marriage. He was baptized 5 Jul. 1840 and was ordained a Seventy by Wilford Woodruff and others on 9 Apr. 1845 in England. He traveled from England to America with Wilford Woodruff in 1845, and he served in church positions alongside Wilford through the end of his life. He died 3 Jul. 1904 in Rexburg, Madison Co., Idaho.
