James Wilson

14 Sep 1742 - 21 Aug 1798

James Wilson (1742-1798) was born 14 Sep. 1742 in Carskerdo, Fife, Scotland. He was the son of William Wilson and Alison Landals. He married Rachel Bird on 5 Nov. 1771; widowed in 1789. He married Hannah Gray on 19 Sep. 1793 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts. He died 21 Aug. 1798 in Edenton, Chowan Co., North Carolina. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
