John Benbow

John Benbow (1800-1874) was born 1 Apr. 1800 in Grendon Warren, Herefordshire, England. He was the son of Thomas Benbow and Ann Jones. He married Jane Homes on 16 Oct. 1826 in Worcester, Worcestershire, England; participated in plural marriage. He subsequently married Rosetta Wright before 29 Oct. 1852. He was baptized by Wilford Woodruff on 6 Mar. 1840 at Benbow Farm in Castle Frome, Herefordshire, England. He served with Wilford Woodruff in missionary and ecclesiastical work, and he cared for Wilford's son while Wilford and Phebe served a mission in 1845 and 1846. He died 12 May 1874 and was buried in Murray, Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory.
