Robert Lang Campbell

Robert Lang Campbell (1825-1874) was born 21 Jan. 1825 in Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, Scotland. He was the son of Alexander Campbell and Agnes Lang. He married Joan Scobie; widowed. He married Mary Stewart on 14 Nov. 1853 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized 9 Aug. 1842 in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland. He served as a clerk in the Church Historian's Office beginning in 1854, which brought him into regular contact with Wilford Woodruff. He died 15 Apr. 1874 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory, and Wilford Woodruff spoke at his funeral.
