Robert Lucas

Robert Lucas (1781-1853) was born 1 Apr. 1781 in Shepherdstown, Berkeley Co., Virginia. He was the son of William Lucas and Susannah Barnes. He married Elizabeth Brown on 4 Apr. 1810. While he served as govenor of Iowa, he is mentioned in Wilford Woodruff's letters. He died 7 Feb. 1853 in Iowa City, Johnson Co., Iowa.
