American Fork,
Feb. 9th 1893.

Pres. Wilford Woodruff
Salt Lake City.

My Dear Brother:

Your kind letter of
Jan. 13th honoring me with a call to
Switzerland and Germany as a missionary
was duly rec'd. I feel to thank the Lord
that His servants have seen fit to call
me into the ministry and cheerfully accept
the call as one of the grandest I
have ever had. Had I had my choice
of fields I should have chosen this
same mission. I would feel that
my duty was unfinished if I were
not to spend some of my life in warning
the world. I will not expect to find it
a bed of roses, but with the help of
the Lord I hope to meet all obstacles

with faith, and return home having performed
an honorable mission. I have not,
until my call, studied the German language.
Having graduated in 1885, as a normal student
in the B. Y. A. I have taught school
since that time. My family consists of a
wife and one child. Financially, my condition
is not what it should be. I will try and
sell some property and my faith is that the
Lord will open the way for me.

If all is well I will be at the Historian's
Office
June 23rd 1893.

Sincerely your brother in the
Gospel, and servant in the spreading
of truth

E. W. Robinson

P.S. Please change my name from "William Edward
Robinson" to Edw. William Robinson.
