Joseph Fielding Smith

Joseph Fielding Smith Sr. (1838-1918) was born 13 Nov. 1838 in Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri. His parents were Hyrum Smith and Mary Fielding. He married Levira Annette Clark Smith on 5 Apr. 1859; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized in 1850 in Great Salt Lake City, Great Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory. He was ordained an Apostle in Jul. 1866, and he served as first counselor to Wilford Woodruff from 1889 to 1898. He died 19 Nov. 1918 in Salt Lake City.
