March 01, 1843 ~ Wednesday

March 1st 1843 This is my Birthday I
am thirty six years of age this day time
flies & waiteth for no am [man] it is exceding cold
weather the river cloesed by ice from Nauvoo
to Montrose on the 15 of last November & it is not
open yet but teams have crossed continually
from shore to shore
