Letter to John Daniel Thompson McAllister, 18 April 1890

Salt Lake City, U. T. . President J. D. T. McAllister, St. George. Dear Brother: Your favor of the 12th inst with regard to the baptism of Miss Gertrude Simonds has been received. We were not aware that the distinctions ^were^ made of which your letter speaks, with regard to first baptisms of persons in the font of the Temple; and we do not at this writing perceive any reasons why such distinctions should be made. Perhaps you can afford us some infor- mation which will throw light on the matter and enable us to understand why the ruling to which you have referred was adopted. In the meantime if you know of no objections to Miss Simonds personally you can baptize her. I return recommends which you enclosed. With kind regards, Your Brother, W Woodruff
