Recd 13 [July 1891] Richfield July 9, 1891. President Wilford Woodruff, Salt Lake City, Dear Brother In reply to yours of the 1st inst. I would say that I except of the call to go on a mission to the United states. In regard to the time to Start up on my mission I would say that I am selling the Osborne Harvesting machines ect. and am obliga- ted to said company until the 1st of October I have tried but find it dificult to get any one to take said buisness

Logan, Utah, Prest Wilford Woodruff Dear Bro We were informed by Bro C. O. Dunn that he had written the letter to you which you forwarded to us today. But after conversing with him on the matter we felt that he was the man for the place more than ever, and that the Lord would open the way for him to fill his mission, and last sunday week, his name was presented to the Sts of the destrict and unanimously sustained, and he was set apart under the hands of Apostle Mosses Thatcher. The ward was named, College Ward. Your Bro in Christ Orson Smith
