17. I met with the Salt Lake Tare Beach Company and
Appointed a New Board Mr White did not agree
with us but behaved vary well. I met with the Board
of Z.C.M.I And Attended to the business of the same
I met witeh Stock Holders of the Deseret Scientific
Association I deposited to day with James Jack
My package of Deeds & Stocks Also a package of
Stocks & Bonds & Notes {George}

Metz who wishes to be releived, person- ally, and have the Netherlands Mission account cred- ited the amount of emigration money paid for the parties named viz £ 30. 9. 6. His proposition to have the note transfered to me or to this office is altogether inadmissable but as Bro. M. felt positive that the elder would pay it, and no doubt Bro Brown is equally as sanguine, tho’ I have had my faith much shaken un- der simelar circumstances, perhaps you will do something. The Netherlands Mission needs assistance—more elders. I found Prest. Metz in very poor health and he had but two efficient assistants Bros A. Farrell and Hyde. Bro. Subert is not advanced in the langu- age far enough to render much help for the present. The labors of these brethren are ^at^ Rotterdam & Amsterdam, with their hands full, indeed, a portion of the time they are badly over worked. Neither Bro. Farrell nor Hyde are in robust health. Prest. Metz is quite feeble; poor food, cold weather, exposure and over work have made a great change in

Provided Always, and these presents are upon the express condition that whereas the above bonden Wilford woodruff has been duly elected to the office of Director in the INCORPORATED ASSOCIATION, known by the name and style of "The Saltair Beach Company" Now, Therefore, if the said Wilford Woodruff shall well and faithfully do and perform the duties of such office, according to his best judgment, skill, and ability, and shall not do nor consent to the doing of any matter or thing relating to the business of said ASSOCIATION, with intent to defraud any stockholder therein, or creditor thereof, or the public, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.
