Sept 2nd we look & rode to Passaden to to visit the Orange & Lemon Grove that cover thousands of Acres we took a carrage & rode 2 ½ hours through the Groves of Orange Lemon & Pepper trees some of the pepper trees were mor than 2 feet though the best of the Trees have ripe green, & Bloom pepper through the year At the close of our visit we took cars & returned to San barnadeno Distance of the Day 20 Miles

Salt Lake City, Utah, President Wilford Woodruff Dear Brother: My experts assure me that there are all the indications of the existence of from one to five millions of dollars in the "Star" property concerning which I have spoken to you. There is certainly great power behind a million or two of dollars. The question presents itself forcibly; shall the Latter day Saints have this power or shall others have it? Unless you believe that I and my experts are deceived or are wilfully lying to you, there is assuredly some mode of procedure that will cover the case. Can there not be five trusty men selected to whom the Trustee in Trust will lend his credit, who will verbally agree to pay over the proceeds of the undertaking except the portion agreed on for them to retain? These five men can incorporate & when incorporated can sign a certificate for the portion of Stock agreed on which can be deposited with Bro Jack and held by him without transfer on the Books, the dividends on which can be paid in money, not checks, and held by him in
