Dear Brother: It is with feelings that can only be described by one who has been in my present position, that I acknowl ege the receipt of your letter, notifying me of my call and appointment in the Northern States Mission, as President! I feel that in calling me, the Lord has selected not olnly the "weak", but one of the weakest. I realize the magnitute of the work over which I am called to preside, and feel it an honor to be entrusted with its care—but this only increases the responsibility. I gladly and thankfully accept the kind Desires, Blessings and Prayers you offer and invoke in my behalf; and, by the kindly aid of my heavenly Father, I hope to fill the appointment
