Wilford Woodruff
Dear Brother

Trusting you will not
Think me slow in
answering yours of the 19th
in which you called me
on a mission to the Southern
States Owning to the Recent
Confinement of my wife

which occured the day
Previous to my Receiving
your letter I thought
it wisdom on my part
to wait until she improved
she has been very sick but
is much better now so I
will answer your letter
will say that I will try
with the help of my
Heavenly Father to be ready
at the time appointed
namely the 13 day of October
will be in Salt Lake City
on the 12th as you requested
me for I feel that it is
my duty to be obedient
as far as it lays in my power
to those that are placed
over me in the church
