Day in the Life

Transcript

On November 21, 1841, Wilford Woodruff wrote in his journal about the first time members participated in baptisms for the dead. He said,

“We repaired the baptismal font in the temple for the purpose of baptizing for the dead, for the remission of sins, and for healing. It was truly an interesting scene. It was the first font erected for this glorious purpose in this last dispensation. It was dedicated by President Joseph Smith and The Twelve for baptizing for the dead, and this was the first time the font had been prepared for the reception of candidates. On the Sabbath, a large congregation assembled. Elders Young and Kimball and Taylor went forward and baptized about 40 persons. Elders Richards, Smith, and myself assisted in confirming them.”

What are some ways you can participate in temple and family history work?
