Transcript
Wilford Woodruff played a large leadership role in establishing the growing community in the Utah Territory. On Sept 20, 1855, he wrote the following in his journal:
“We met at the social Hall for a public meeting of the Horticultural society. Our constitution & bylaws were read & adopted, & a sample of Fruit from the best orchards in the city was exhibited & then distributed to the assembly.”
The Deseret Horticulture Society brought local farmers together, giving them a chance to promote better agricultural practices and share crops. This is one of the examples of how Wilford Woodruff served as a leader in building a Zionist community.
What are you doing to build Zion where you live?
