I look forward to receiving each new edition [of the newsletter], and enjoy reading early Church history by the most accurate historian of the time and of my family.

Reading these personal histories helps to see [my ancestors] as people going through struggles, just like you or me.

We have a lot of difficulties and adversity in our lives, but when you're connected to God and you have a perspective of why you're doing the things you're doing, and who you are and your purpose, you can do anything with a good attitude.

The reason why I decided to serve a mission was because I know that the gospel makes me happy. It's where I've found true and lasting joy.

I have a testimony of this project and of our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ, and of their love for each of us. I know that the experiences that we have in this life help us to come closer unto them and to our ancestors as well.

I am loving transcribing, especially the discourses. There is such a strong spirit when I am transcribing and sometimes I feel like I even hear the voice of Pres. Woodruff in my mind. I love it!

Wilford Woodruff is a great person to learn about church history from because he joined the church when Joseph Smith was the prophet and he led the church into the 20th century.

"This (the book, and by extension, the work of the Foundation) makes me understand and appreciate my temple covenants better!"

Because Wilford was committed to keeping records to show God’s hand in his life and in the life of the Church, we have a wonderful resource that both highlights Latter-day Saint history and can help us in our own spiritual path through this mortal life. For these reasons, I am greatly excited for the Wilford Woodruff Papers Project.

A gardening friend of mine once said that 90% of everything beautiful is a lot of repetitive work. But even that repetitive work can be consecrated, or made beautiful, by our hope of the desired result. It’s true in gardening and it is true with the Wilford Woodruff Papers.
