May 09, 1843 ~ Tuesday

9th I left Nauvoo at 7 oclock on the Maid
of Iowa in company with about one hundred
Gentleman & Ladies on a pleasure
excursion to Burlington. General Joseph Smith
& Lady his mother & family were of the
Party. we had an excellent address by
P. P. Pratt, we touched at Fort Madison
on our way up and at Shokoquon on our return
