Letter from John Milton Bernhisel, 3 January 1853
Washington City Dear Brother, I have remitted to Messrs Sanborn and Carter a draft for $153.50 being the amount allowed me by my banker for the $153.35 in coin which you transmitted to me by the hands of brother Pratt. This morning I have received from Sanborn & Carter a receipt for the draft. Yours truly, John M. Bernhisel Mr Woodruff
