March 27, 1853 ~ Sunday

27th Sunday Elder John L Smith Addressed the meeting
& spoke well After He closed
President Brigham Young Arose & said many interesting
things concerning the Gladdenites & Apostates in this pla[c]e
his discours is published in the Deserett News vol 3, No 10
which is Highly interesting was followed By P P Pratt J Taylor
& W Woodruf I also preached in the evening in the 14 ward school hous

Woodruff. asked for teams {and} men {to} work {on the} temple ground there {is a} cord {in} this [kne] {and} when one part {if} it {is} touched it electrifies {the} whole {he} referred {to} Joseph's Smith speech when {he} lifted {his hand to} heaven {and} s[ai]d {I} now turn {the} Key upon this gen[eratio]n both {on} heaven {and} Earth they ma[y] not submit any longer {the} cord this da[y] electrified {is} strong {and} this ppl wo[ul]d die {to a} man {I} warn {all} men {to} give heed {to the} council this da[y] given this ppl {have} felt for {a} long time {and I} rejoice {the} da[y] {has} come {i} wo[ul]d ra[the]r die eternally than crouch then dont trifle {with} these things {the} men who lead {you} r [are] controlled by {a} higher power {and I} thank God {the} Keys r unloched again {and} every LDS {will} freely shed {their} blood then let men beware. 1:53 pm
