Letter to Stephen Markham, 6 May 1856
G. S. L. City, . Bror Stephen Markham, Historian George A Smith expected you would have called at this office as you passed through the city; but as you did not. Also how the news of Joseph's death reached Nauvoo, and all the other circumstances within your Knowledge relating to the affair; sending me these particulars by the very first consequence, as I wish to almalgamate it with what we have already on hand. and I am just at that period of the history. Yrs truly, Wilford Woodruff Historian by Thomas Bullock -Clerk-
