Dear Br. Johnson:
I received your let-
ter of Oct. 31st, and a letter put into
my hands directed to the News, of Nov.
19th. I was glad to hear from you
and that all is as well as it is
is with you.
It was in consequence of some words
made use of in your letter to me,
that caused us to think you expected
us to send emigrations to you to help
pay for the land, but it seems not
to have been your calculation. I am
glad that you are doing well. I am
in hopes that there will be an opening
in some part of Mexico for a settlement
of our people.
