April 14, 1885 ~ Tuesday

14 ^ A hand pointing to the right^ A rainy morning I wrote 2 letters to President
Keys crossed A crown John Taylor & John Jaques I also sent a
communication for the deseret News of 14 pages
of foolscap sent it to President Taylor for examin-
ation before publication I attended a prayer circle
in the Temple with about 30 friends the school of the prophets

Letter to John Taylor, 14 April 1885
President John Taylor Dear Brother I recived your vary kind & welcome letter of March 26. I thank you for your Blessing I am enjoying vary good health at the presentt time. I am with a kind friend Happy & comfortable and suppled with all the necssaries of life President Taylor my object in writing at this time is this I at present am shut up from the public where I do not make any use of my tongue in speaking to the people and I have taken the liberty of putting down some of my cogitations upon paper for the Deseret News if they are suitable for publication but I do not feel willing to publish anything of that Nature
