July 25, 1886 ~ Sunday

25 we drove up the 9 Miles Creek drove to [Look] ranch
& camped for the Night [12 Miles] Brother Calwell shot
a Dear which we dressed I rosted some of the ribs
on the coals and Eat for supper and it gave me a
severe Diahrher 12 Miles

25 Sunday We Drove up the 9 Mile Creek & Met a man who was Making a [claim] on the [Bottom] we Nooned then Drove to [Lunts] Ranch 12 M[iles] the canyon that we passed through yesterday was the Most strange canyon I Ever saw for

8 or 10 Miles Down the cayont it was a zig zag course we could hardly see 100 yards ahead of us It looked E[vr]y rod as though we were lead [illegible] up by [rugged] & went a thousand feet high but we wound around & finally found the 9 mile creek
