Your Letter to Emma
of Jan 4 I have read with much interest
I was pleased that you had a good time
during Christmass. And inasmuch
as you and Clara have made up
your minds to sail in the sam boat
through the Sea of of Life I hope you
my have fair weath[er] and a peaceful
voyage. I hope you will be united in
all the Labors of Life, and that there
may not be any jeers or discords betwen
you. both parties should labor to
make each other comfortable and happy
Marriage is honorable in all, and with
the Latter Day Saints it is one of the
most solumn compacts that Man can
Enter into for it is for time and all
Eternity. and persons united with that
tie should not ownly Love Each other, but
