Salt Lake City, Utah, My Dear Leslie I have a Letter of yours of Dec 6 & one from Orion of Jan 2 which I have not answered. I also got an a Letter from Susan a few days since which I have just answered I wrote to Phebe Scholes on 5 inst Susan is still in poor health. Phebe Enjoyed her visit at Brigham vary much and seemed to Regret having to leave she is teaching a 3 months term of school at Onawa Susan seems to regret that Phebe did not have a chance to be baptized while in Utah Susan says No one asked her to be baptized I Expect she was delicate to ask any one to baptize her I wish she could have been baptized if she Desired it. I think she would make a good Latter-Day Saint I had a visit of about an hour at Emmas with her I was vary much please with her I think she is a Noble good girl I thnk it is vary seldom

Snowflake Dear Bro Allen I Have aroze early this morning that I may write to you we are all tolerably well & the Health of the People are about as usual The objesct of my writing at this time may appear to you to be somewhat peculiar but you Know that I Have no father to seek council from besides this you will Probably remember that we Had a talk about athe same subjects that I shal refer to. the first is about My future labors you Know that I Have spent the most of fmy f life among the spanish speaking People & Have Earnestly sought to acquire the spanish language so as to be qualified to do some good in this life
