Beaver President Wilford Woodruf Dear Brother– thare is a matter I wish to consult you about, as follows. it has ben one year & half since one of my Councilors died & I have Chosen another in the person of Philo T Farnsworth if it be agreeable to you, if so let me know, the high Council will indorse him, & I think the People will with your sanction With kind love to yourself & all the Breathren I remain your Brother in the gospil J. President Wilford Woodruff, Dear Brother—About the middle of Nov. last I received a communi- cation from E. W. Tullidge making me a proposition to engage in assisting to get up a history of Southern Utah. The nature and extent of that business is very ^well^ explained in his Power of Attorney to me, a copy of which I enclose. He has before made several efforts to engage me in his literary enterprises, but not until now have I had the spirit to take hold with him. No labor or business is of value to me in which I cannot have the fellowship and good feeling of my brethren in the Priesthood. It would be a great satisfaction for me to know that my labors in this direction would meet your approval. Should they do so, I will get a letter of recommendation from the President of my Stake to the
