Letter from Matthias Foss Cowley, 14 June 1889
W. B. Gibbons Preston Preston, Idaho. June 10th, 1889. Mr. Cowley Dear Brother. My Son Wm A Gibbons recieveg a letter from S. L. Letter from Lot Smith, 10 June 1889
Tuba, President W. Woodruff, Dear Bro. I done as you advised me. I took an apeal from the Bishops Court to the High Council of this Stake. They reduced the Decision of the Bishops Court $333 I believe & require me to pay A. L. Farnsworth $1,073.75 & I say I do not owe him anything. Now I want advice to pay him or I want an appeal & I dont care which it is. I dont want litigation & I hope I dont want anything but my own. I am so pleased to hear that you brethren can moove round among the people & do your Fathers Work. There is little news here, 2 new boys at our own house, one came on my 59th birthday, 15th of May. Crops good, health of the people good, friendship with the Indians, I am sure is becoming stronger. The best wishes of my heart is with you, Brother Cannon, Joseph F & all the faithful of our Fathers Kingdom. May God lengthen out your life untill you say it is enough, let me come home. Your Bro. Lot Smith P. S. If I am no Judge of Justice I would like some good proof on it the best I know of. You saw the death of Bro. Tenney did you not.
