I went with Emma & Owen to G Q Cannon &
fished in his pond we caught 3 carp & returned
home & spent the night 4 Miles

President W. Woodruff Salt Lake City, Utah. My dear brother: Your very welcome and esteemed favor of May 31st came to hand and was read with much interest. President Harrison may think he can destroy the work of God, but it will only result in his own destruction. No doubt the Lord, who doeth all things well, may have some design in allowing Zanes appointment which the future will unfold. It looks as if some design was in it. A company of 163 souls left Liverpool to-day for Zion in the Guion S.S. Wisconsin with 9 returning missionaries Elders Jno W. F. Volker President Geo G. Hales 1st Counsellor and Morgan Evans 2nd Counseller. Robert W. Stoney Sec. & recorder. We had arranged for Elder Hales to take the charge, but for cause [he] did not want his name published as [Pr]esident of the Company. The names of the [oth]er Elders are James Thompson, James Booth [E]phraim Mortensen Cornelius Green & C. H. Rhees Mr Ramsden still continues very ill. He takes relapses which keep him down. We
