Letter from George Teasdale, 2 July 1890
President W. Woodruff & Council Dear Brethren: President Joseph Leaing, of the London Conference, writes me in behalf of a family by the name of Barnett, who are members of the North London Branch. It would take about £65.0.0 or 325 00/100 for their emigration. Bro. Barnett is a painter and often out of work. Bro. Leaing says "he hopes something can be done for their deliverance from Babylon for they certainly have a sad and dreary time of it here with so many little mouths to fill, he soon gets in debt if he does not have work. At the present time they are free from debt, which is something uncommon as for many months work with Bro. Barnett has been very uncertain until within the past few months They pay their tithing and do just about as well as it is possible for them to do under the circum stances in which they are placed. Emigration would indeed be a godsend to them and would be a deliverance from bondage & poverty." Thus writes Bro Leaing. He thinks if he was in Zion he would soon be able to return his emig- ration as there is a demand for painters. What shall we do? With kind love, your brother & fellow laborer George Teasdale
