Letter from James Powers Dwyer, 19 December 1890
Salt Lake City, Utah, President Wilford Woodruff, Dear Brother: I recevd a letter this evening from the Publishers of Chambers New Edition of their Encyclopedia. Messrs J. B. Lippincolt Co of Philadelphia, stating that on November 26th the manager of the work sent to President Richards to return proof of the article on the Mormons, as early as possible. but, as yet it seems it has not been attended to. This is I think impor- tant, as the manager swrites me he fear that if longer delayed corrections if there be any will be too late for insertion. Kindly have this matter attended to, and Oblige Very Respectfully Your Bro &c. James Dwyer
Letter from Joseph Heber Thurber, 19 December 1890
Koosharem Piute Co President Wilford Woodruff, Salt Lake City, Dear Brothe, In answer to your letter of Nov. I can say that my delay in answering was in order to get to see the Presidency of this Stake, in reguards to a Brother, to take charge of the Indians, in this Stake, and we would recomend Bro George A. Brown, of Greenwich, and he is also the choice of the Indians. In reguards to the Mission to the Sandwich Islands, to work there as Blacksmith, I can say that my first family would be rather a burden on the people here, as my oldest son is only eight years of age, and three children under five years, including a nursing babe, And very little means of support.
