18 I spent the day in the office I met with the Bank
Board and signed a Note of $50000 on a
Calafornia Bank & Cannon & Grant company
Keys crossed I went to Joseph Horns in the Evening & met with
with him & Sister Horn & the family & quite a company
of friends celebrating Brother & Sister Horn upon his 80
Eightyieth birth day

Salt Lake City, President Wilford Woodruff Dear Brother. Replying to your letter dated Jan. 21, calling me on a Mission to Scandinavia, will say: I will accept the call. But can hardly get ready to leave the city as earley as May 7th. I will try my very best to get ready by the end of may. My business being such, that I need all of that time to prepair my self. our firm is in considerable debt, which I desire to reduce. If this ammount can be kept on deposet here it may avoid great inconvenience in the future.
