Letter from William Orme Lee, 6 February 1892

Sat. . To the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dear Brethren:- It is now three days since we left the scene of our first mission and the brethren and saints on Samoa. What little in- significant speaks those green isles are to the world generally, but to us they are great mountains. We find that we have become greatly attached to our new home and its associations and although our hearts are filled with unalterable joy at the prospect of meeting our loved ones in Zion again; yet we part with feelings of genuine sorrow from our brethren, the saints and our numerous friends on Samoa. In writing to Bro. Reynolds last month I reported Sister Lee as being in a critical condition and indeed she was at that time but thanks to a most merciful Providence she is now moderately well again her recovery being more rapid and re- markable this time than ever before.
