Letter from Charles Ora Card, 31 October 1892

Prest. Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Utah u. s. a. Dear Brother Your esteemed favor of the 14th inst came to hand by our last mail containing our receipt for cash forwarded to the Salt Lake Temple. As to the Land matter you refer to I feel as you and I shall be glad to aid you in any ^way^ I can. I now have the pattent for our town site here and as soon as I can fill the Law by having it Surveyed and plotted by a duly authorized surveyor will deed it to the brethren here. Nearly all the lots are given out to resident parties and I believe with some late arrivals all will be ocupied before spring & during the winter I will attend to transfering and gathering in the means. We are needing more land for lots & can obtain a piece from a Mr. Barker & in the event I can make the deal can I borrow for one year the Cash the church has invested in our town Site? and at what percent. In our next addition I will make Smaller lots; I think they will be better. General good health prevails at present but we have had a little Sickness this fall and one death.
