Basalt Idaho Wilford Woodroff President of the Church of Jesus christ of Latter day Saints. Dear Brother—In as much as we live so far from Rexburg and the time is short in this matter I tak the liberty in writing to you. Last spring i put in 20 acres of weath & 3 of oats. My canal brok and i did not get it fixt in time to do any good. Having 10 familys in the ward they have not raisd any thing yet. som of them cam in last fall and som of them this spring all Por and had nothing to live on, I went to work and tok a contrakt to put up 200 acres of Alfalfa Hay i tok 11 of the Brethren wit me to put up this hay and gave them all equil shar, the first cutting wi med 388 feet of Hay to each man & team pr day wich gived me 18 ton 116 feet of this hay i turned over to a storkipper ha i owd 13 ton for Groceris i held hom 3 ton sept one 2 ton an 116 feet from the first cutting sept the 4 we coment again putting up the second crop on Sept 18. Mr Th B Shannon of Salt Lake City representing the Consolidated Implement Company, wanted mi to give him a morgage on 40 ton of hay. I told him
