17 Keys crossed I Met with GQC. J.F.S with several of the Twelve
& McCallister, D. H. Cannon M W Merrill who preside over
the Three Temples & L Snow of Salt Lake Temple & spent
three hours in harmanizing the Different Modes of
ceremonies in giving Endowments {I burned up} $10000000 Notes

Colony Diaz Mex. Presd't W Woodruff Dear Brother There is a question I have long desired to ask and the only reason I have not, is, that I did'nt like to intrude upon your time. I came to Mexico with the first big outfit, beca^u^se the word came to us from Pres'dt. Taylor almost as a call. I have staid because I have thought there was a great work in this land for us, and have tried to qualify myself for that work Now there seems to be a feeling among some of the leaders different from that expressed by those who have visited us here and who have always talked of this more as a mission than otherwise. Salt Lake City, Utah. Lucy W Smith My Dear Grand Daughter Your vary interesting Letter Aug 27 came to hand all right And I have tryed many times to Answer it but I have not found a searine moment to do it And now I have ownly time betwen meetings to write a few lines I passed through since I saw you one of the hardest sickness of my life and No one thought I could Live but I think it was through the pleadings of the people with the Lord I with my councellors accompanied the Quire to the fair And had a great time of course you know the Quire got the 2 Prize of $1000 against the world and we were received with great kindness & we were called upon for speeches before great assem- -blies & we got back all safe. Your Father is at work in the Temple I have just been at work there fo 4 Hours
