Nephi City, Utah, . Pres. Wilford Woodruff. Salt Lake City Dear Bro. I have just received word from bro. Mark Sowby in regard to his call for a mission to Great Britian. He informs me that he is so situated with his sheep that it would be almost impossable for him to leave them at present, and if it will meet with your approval he will be ready next fall to comply with your wishes. Trusting this will be satisfactory I am Your Bro. T. H. G. Parkes Bp. 2nd Ward of Nephi. All right. Give him till next fall, and so note in the record. J. F. S.

Lehi City, . Wilford Woodruff Geo. Q. Cannon Jos. F. Smith, First Presidency of the C. of J. C. of L. S. Dear Brethren,- Yours of the 18th [inst.] stating that I had been called as a missionary to attend the S. S. Normal Courses at Provo, came duly to hand. In reply I will say that I am willing to go and do the best I can in this labor, and I only hope that I may be able to come some where near filling the requirements that may be made of me after I return home.
