Letter from Abraham Owen Woodruff, 22 December 1894

Prest. W. Woodruff Dearest Father: With pleasure I sieze the opportunity to pen you a few lines, in answer to you kind and instructive letter of Nov. 30th. I know that I can not be too careful in keeping out of all temptation, for the Devil lays traps for the servants of God on every hand. When I think of you all at home and the Christmas time, with the New Year dawning upon us, My heart is with thanks and gratitude to the Lord filled, that he has blessed us all so richly in the past year & my hopes are that I will have strength to go through "[18]95" as well and better than I have done in "[18]94." Your prayers and the prayers of all my dear ones at hom[e] have not been spoken in vain, in my behalf, for the answer to them has been my daily companion and watch-guard. In the past year I have nothing to regret only that I might have learned more or accomplished more good. Since coming to Dresden it has been my
