Business/Financial - Account Book, 1889-1898

Letter from James Ephraim Steele, 1 May 1896

Iona, Idaho, Presedent Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Ut Dear Bro— If it should become necessary to try to member of the High Council for wrong doing, what court should he be tried in first? or should he be sited befor the High Councel first, his owen Quorum. It would seam that we have a case, and should like to know what is the proper corse, as thair is [s]ome difference of opinion. Another question, ^say^ a case has been appealed, from the Bishops Court to the High Council. Does the Stake Presidency have the right to say that the case is a trivial and frivolous one, and should not come before the High Council, or should the case come before them, and they to be the Judge, or try the case on its merits. Will feel greatly obliged for the proper information, and would feel to have it as early as convent. Yours Bro. &c Jas. E. Steele
