Letter from Willard Done, 8 June 1896
To the First Presidency, City. Dear Brethren; Several mnonths ago a request was made bey the College for an appropriation from the General Board of Seven Thousand Five Hundred ($7,500) Dollars for next year's work. We have received no reply, but as you have generally understoon^d^ from my personal interviews with you that the College work wouold continue, and have said notheing to the contrary, I have taken it upon myself to engage teacghers for next year before it was too late. The salaries proposed to them are within the limits of the $7,500 plus expected tuition. Some of those teachers have been taken from other positions that were offerefd them, because if they had not been immediately secured they would have been be- yond our reach. I sincerely trust that you will approve of the course I have taken, and if I hear nothing of your diasapproval I woill engage the remainder of the faculty. Thanking you most hearti- ly for your kindness to the institution, I remain, Yours very respectfully, Willard Done.
