28 The Scientific Association Met at the Office
this morning And the Mining Company held
a Meeting at the office what to do with the body
of Thomas P. Gallespie who was shot yesterday
at the Sterling Mine It was finally concluded
to bury it there

Franklin President Woodruff. Dear Brother, I can say, in answer to the call, that you have made of me to take A Mission to great Britan. I can realize and under-stand that it is A great responsability. It is with this as it is with all other calls that the servants of God require of me, I try to fill them to the best of my ability. Salt Lake City, Utah Dear Brethren: As it has been some time since I advised you of my immediate labors, I take ^this^ liberty of pening you these few lines in relation to them. I left Kansas City, Missouri, about the 20th of August enroute to visit the ten conferences of the Northern States Mission, as already know to you. The Southern Illinois Conference (thirteen Elders), held September 6 and 7th at Vienna, Illinois, being the first of the six already convened.
