I went to the office but was in a good Deal of distress
in my stomach I lay down but could not sleep. The
communication by President Snow on Moses Thatcher
was published in the Herald and part of it in the Tribune

Dear Sir: As suggested by your Secretary in his letter of November 16th, we have made a new proof of Brigham Young's picture for the National Cyclopedia of American Biography, evening the cut of the beard and changing the forehead as in the first place: We enclose all three proofs, and we trust this last will be satisfactory. We understand that if this is approved all the portraits and illustrations now meet with your approval, and we beg to hand you herewith our bill for this work as per contract.
