NEW YORK Hon. Wilford Woodruff, Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Sir: We have written you several times concerning the payment of our account now due without receiving a reply from you. We have done all we can do until we receive payment for our bill in accordance with the terms of your agreement. We will soon be closing up the seventh volume, and will therefore ask you to kindly give this your personal attention, and send us a draft by return mail. Yours very truly, James T. White & Co.

The First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Laterday Sants. My Dear Brotherin Your letter of the 22 is at hand. and contents noted and I will say my feeling are your feelings and I am in your hands and whatever you say I will abide by it. I am oweing five thousand Dollars and I have been trying for some time to get out of it, but times has been of such a nature I havent been able to make much headway; I am sorry to half to write to you these condition but you have asked of me and I dont think I would be doing write unless I answerd your letter as Per inquiry My Dear Brotherin I dont wish to make any excises but those are facts and I am sorry to half to write them. and what ever you say I will say so too, Should the call be write away as what time you must stipulate I will do the best I can to get their.
