4th I was quite unwell our suit with Madison
was put off two days I was confined to the house most of the day

cords of my neck I had taken cold in it

6th Our case with Madison came on to day Elias
Smith attended to it for us, confessed Judgment
which let the debt run 70 days it was merely
$46 dollars. I began to get a little better in health

7th Their is no little stir made in the world in
consequence of the progress of the Latter Day
Saints A messenger has Just arived from St Louis informing us that the Governor of Mo.
has isued another writ for President Joseph Smith
& is about to make an appeal or demand of the Governor
of Illinois. President Joseph Smith has
made an affecting appeal to the Green Mountain
Boys of Vermont for assistance in obtaining redress
of his wrongs in the persecutions of Missouri. We publis-
hed it in pamphlet form & sent it to the various
authorities of the United States

8th The City Counsel was called & passed an
ordinance the purport of which was that any
person henceforth that should come with a writ
to take Joseph Smith on the old Missouri difficu
lty should be imprisioned in the city Joal for life
unless pardoned by the Governor with the consent
of the mayor. We published it on an extra sheet
of the Neighbor & sent that abroad also
Sister Cornelia Divine commenced labour with us
this day
